That is a wonderful question you have there. Therapy/counseling has often been categorized for people going through severe issues such as depression or trauma. However, if you are just feeling down, sad, want a safe space to vent, explore different perspectives for an issue you are struggling with then don’t hesitate. Go ahead with it. Therapy is for anyone & everyone.
Opening up about your difficulties is never easy and putting blind faith in a stranger is much tougher, so what you are feeling is validated. It is the job of the therapist to make you comfortable so you can talk. Remember you are not alone in the therapy room. The therapeutic relationship builds gradually so give yourself & the process the time.
Every session would be 50 mins in duration. It is recommended to meet your therapist once every 7 to 10 days. Based on an initial understanding of your concern in the first session I would suggest to you the number of times it would be ideal for us to meet.
Maintaining confidentiality is of utmost importance in therapy. All information that you share is totally safe and kept secured by your therapist. There are only a few situations such when you pose a risk to yourself or to someone else; when your health is too fragile or you request to share the information with a third party; is when the confidentiality is broken.
It is very kind of you to look out for people you care & love, you can gift a therapy session to them by reaching out to the team of Heal&Feel.
